None of it makes sense. Some folks are addicted to alcohol and cigarettes and this is OK. But if police find you with MJ or cocaine, you get busted and do jail time.
It’s ridiculous. They should either be all illegal or all legal.

It’s all politics, depends on which part of the government they get involved with.
On some levels I agree with you. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance & when caught the first time for drugs then a free rehab stint should be mandatory with ongoing drug councelling & methodone if required.
Second & subsequent busts however should attract mandatory prison time with longer & longer non-parole periods for each additional offense.
And yes, when it is costing millions to treat drug addicts then I believe the government should have the right to tell you what you can & can’t put into your body.
There are some double standards in play however with nicotine & alcohol baing legal while remaining harmful as well as fast food & cars capable of doing speeds well over maximum allowable limits being available however I guess there are lines that have to be drawn.
If it is against the law, yes you can and will be told what you can or cant do to your own body. Why are drugs so bad?? Stop and think, have you ever met a brilliant, responsible, upstanding, honost drug addict? Drugs change how you think and act. Usually for the worst. Then you make decisions that affect other people. It’s at that point that you are no longer affecting only yourself. Lastly, the only thing I know of that is free is advise. Good and bad. Try reading a book, you may be pleasantly surprised at the satisfaction you recieve.
