Thanks again Paul. I know that my life can be so much better when I am not
drinking and that the booze is holding me back from living the life that I
really want to. I know this because of the time spent in happy sobriety.
Why then did I fall back!? I am reading Allen Carr’s “Easyway to control
alcohol” and looking at the problem from the view of “drug addiction”
rather than AA’s postion. I want to be free by myself I dont want to take
everyday at a time. I cured the fags now for the lager!!
Hi ZM, I wrote a reply to you earlier, but it seems to have been removed –
I’m not sure how that could happen. I agree that when our thinking is clear

I definitely understand your discomfort with the “one day at a time”
approach. I gave up alcohol, and it stopped being my problem right then. I
won’t ever drink again. If you want to get beyond the “one day at a time”
approach it isn’t hard to do – just remove the option of relapse. I know
that this probably sounds too good to be true, but it really is that
simple. It was mostly larger for me as well – except for occasional cider
binges. Good luck
