fdny6982… The murderers and rapists don’t go to work in private prisons… They are the 1% of prisoners who go to Supermaxes and are locked up for 23 hours a day (24 if you include the ‘exercise’ cage)… The other 99% are doing time for non-violent non-dangerous crimes and should be being re-habilitated, rather than being used for? profit.
my taxes pay for this wtf there wasting my money! this should be illegal ?
lets put the owners and people at the highest platforms that are part of those corrupt corperations and replace inmates and put them in rehab and at the same? time putting people at the highest platform in thos corrupt corperation in those jails , this will save humanity.
CORPORATION AND GOVERNMENT MERGE = FASCISM
?
It’s sad in the local jail here. The people voted to build a new jail so we could house inmates for other counties and our county would make money. I don’t know who our county is, but I haven’t got any more money for it. Then they put poor people in jail from an hour away and their families can’t afford to drive to visit so to talk to their kids they have to pay $5 for 9 minutes. Of course? the poor are constantly being robbed by the State.
nothing will happen with prisons…people don’t? care about em…they have been on this for a grip and no one cares…fcc just now say n something??? hell they are the one’s doin it with em….it’s all about money!!!! fools lol
We are living in a financial prison everywhere! ? Neighborhoods, cities, country towns, wow!
I clearly understand? your sentiment.
They aren’t paying it…their families are. People are kept in prisons under long sentences for business…they fill beds. But wait, you’ve never done something wrong, right? And, yes, I am a taxpayer and have not been in prison. It’s not the criminal you should feel? sorry for…it’s the raping of the American people as a whole. The taxpayers pay for them to be housed, then the system makes a healthy wage off of the inmates AND their family and friends…who are also taxpayers by the way..
Buying phone cards doesn’t reduce the cost of a per minute rate…that’s like saying if I dial this 1-900 from your? house, it will cost less than at mine! Prison industries get away with it because the general public doesn’t care for anyone, including the families, of incarcerated people and truly don’t have a clue just how much money is ripped out of the pockets of the families of those incarcerated. It should be controlled, there is no reason why a minute on any call is that expensive!
Ok. Now U have made it clear what u? mean, I agree with u.
How can u say, stupid people pay it when ppl have? no choice as they`re incarcerated. In england the best way round this is for the visitors of these ppl to buy them phonecards.
This also happens in England. The prison systems reap the profits from exorbitant phone fees as also do hospitals, mental hospitals, detention centres for failed assylum seekers and so called illegal immigrants which are in fact prisons and owned and staffed by the same company`s that own and? staff prisons.
you give? them a string.. ill give them a rope!!
These corps. work outside the prison system as well. In my area they actually bought the local pay phones. I did some research when I was hit with a $70 bill for two collect calls from a public pay phone for less than a minute each, it was? one of these prison telecom companies behind the charges.
I bet the city is being paid a pretty penny from that thievery. They also don’t tell anyone about these charges in advance.
Global Tel are the biggest thieves! I had terrible? experiences dealing with them. They get away with murder.
Welcome to the police state. It ain’t getting? any better.
All the places I’ve called my gf (ex) at… like for 15 minutes, it’s $20 – $30.
And most of the places use a repeating blaring message (cannot converse) every couple minutes, telling you you may be recorded blah blah blah… using up like 20% of YOUR talk time! It’s? bullshit!
Commissary is just as crazy.
People do not get “corrected” by this system… especially since you can’t even get a job at McD’s when you get out… doesn’t matter if you’re a murderer or you wrote a bogus check etc
In china they just? execute common criminals and save on phone calls…
We will eventually put the heads of the corporate? prison system in the prisons they are building. then we are going to give them “tin cans” with very long stings!
