Pet Therapy at Betty Ford Center – A trio of dogs have found their way into the hearts of patients — and staff — at the Betty Ford Center. Golden Retriever Irish and Cavalier King Charles spaniels Kerry and Toby interact with patients — and staff — on several levels. The two smaller dogs bring their intuition to group sessions, and Irish is a willing playmate and friend. Many patients who miss their pets at home find these therapy dogs a welcome addition to their inpatient treatment. One alumna recently said, “I have a Golden Retriever at home, and being able to see Irish — and give him hugs — was a huge part of my recovery at the Center.”
