it has? saved my life and marriage
Good vid. Thanks.
Theres way too? much bad and wrong info about methadone that goes around.
im so sorry sweety !i just read this and realise that it was 6 months ago. i hope you are well. it breaks my heart when i hear about people being medically detoxed cause they cant pay ! unfortunately, alot of clinics are in the buisness? for money! i do not wish “sickness” on anyone. hope you are well now sweety!
i have researched suboxone, and for me it is not the answer. they are both opioid blockers, so you have to find? whats best for you. as for “standin in line every day” , i only go to my clinic once a month, so it depends on your clinic, and how well you are doing. everyones bodys are different and everyones recovery is different, you can all do it! just take one day at a time and know what there is a better life ahead of you.
i think that? there are negatives and positives to everything in life, and methadone is no different. for me, it saved my life! i have been “clean” for 7 years, and yeah, there are some down sides to it, but for me the pro’s outway the con’s.
sad part is I think methadone is? a clinic that is a money making scheme.
IMO, Suboxone is much more effective. Just get a prescription and? not have to get up and go stand in line everyday. Most clinics will let you raise your own Methadone dose for the first 3 weeks and people tend to dose themselves way too high. Then it can take years to come off. To me, Suboxone was a wonder detox alternative!!
Positive effects, I wasn’t aware there were any positive effects. Yeah, I said the same thing, I said I feel “normal” for 11 years. The truth is you don’t feel anything while you’re taking Methadone-it’s not saved one life,? the only person who can save you is you. Find a good reputable doctor, detox, get healthy, and take your life back stop letting a drug or a clinic control you.
WELL GEUSS WHOS GETTING READY TO KICK…. well im have went from 80mg to 40 mgs by doing 2mg a week decrease now i lost my general relief so i cant pay now there getting ready to? do A admistrative detox on me which is a 21 day detox they first decrease you 10mg 1 day then 10 agin then 5 a day im scared shitless i dont want to be sick
Do they charge an extra $40 a month for methadone in the States? In Canada they started doing this about six months ago and I don’t know why.?
I’m not saying it’s 3 days for everyone. I’m just saying it’s 3 days? average for a lot of the people I’ve met who have been trying to get off.
i disagree. cold turkey is not the best way to quit. maybe for some people, but not everyone. 3 days of physical pain? try about 6 months here. the mental effects go way beyond three days. with methadone you can taper at a slow pace, making it easier for your body to adjust to the changes. in the meantime you can get the pieces of your? life back together while you’re on it. it’s quite different than other opiates. i could not funtion at all on painkillers. i function better now.
yes thanks for clearing up the stigma. I am a pharmacist that used to be incharge of dispensing methadone at my workplace. the public’s opinion on the treatment is still in such negative light that it can be quite a challenge for patients to? rehabilitate taking methadone to replace other addictive drugs 🙁
Three days? Yeah right! Maybe for someone with a very small first time habit.
When you say ‘efficient’ what are you talking about? Cold turkey may be the quickest way but if you look at the long term success rate then methadone has to be the most efficient because it has the longest lasting effect on opiate addiction. Also the longer a person stays in methadone treatment the more likely they are to stay off illicit drugs. w.renegade-scholar.blogspot.com?

You know there are many people bashing methadone. Any? person addicted to opiods knows the most efficient way to quit any opiod is to quit cold turkey. But what these people fail to realize is a person who is addicted to opiods has to face something so hard, so frickin hard that they’ll go back to using. I know it’s 3 days of physical pain but those three days seem like 3 years to the addict. So it’s not the quickest way for the addict. It’s brutal what they face quitting cold turkey.
