This film examines human medical experiments to determine the efficacy of LSD-25 and MER 17 (Frenquel) on treating psychosis. Producer: National Archives and Records Administration. Creative Commons license: Public Domain Chemist Albert Hofmann, working at the Sandoz Corporation pharmaceutical laboratory in Switzerland, first synthesized LSD in 1938. He was conducting research on possible medical applications of various lysergic acid compounds derived from ergot, a fungus that develops on rye grass. Searching for compounds with therapeutic value, Hofmann created more than two dozen ergot-derived synthetic molecules. LSD is sold on the street in tablets, capsules, and occasionally in liquid form. It is an odorless and colorless substance with a slightly bitter taste that is usually ingested orally. It is often added to absorbent paper, such as blotter paper, and divided into small decorated squares, with each square representing one dose. CONTROL STATUS LSD is a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Well, he wasn’t paranoid until the guy asks, “Do you think? we’re going to kill you Ronnie?” That would trip me out under any situation.

  • chirag kotak says:

Horrible and useless? experiment…..whats the point of the inhibitor anyway ? to treat mental illnesses ?? Putting anybody in a situation like this is going to produce anxiety and confusion…SET and SETTING … Everybody that can spell LSD knows about set and setting….how about showing the world how Ronnie reacts to a situation that is conducive to a state of happiness and tranquility…This experiment is not an objective one..instead it is steered towards producing a desired result.

  • cliffslunch says:

    Happy New Year 2013!?

  • MrFoxrocks says:

F this! I think anyone in the world? would have been ready to punch a baby to get out of this room.

  • fiscornioman says:

This video? should be called: “Tripping with douchebags”.

  • Victor Lomboy says:

Its easy to tell what your getting. if your so scared when buying just ask for a hit to see. But “If its Bitter, Its a? spitter.”

  • Brian Higgins says:

This is a good example of what happens when you try to fight the effects of lsd. There is another lsd experiment from this time period where a painter doesn’t want to do certain things such as drink, because he felt that would bring him back to reality. This? guy here felt the opposite and was clinging to reality, which is what causes bad trips.

  • foytdie says:

they arent there to have fun they are there? to learn about it

  • foytdie says:

in? regards to item 4, i believe they use it in hospitals when overdosing has occured

  • Kenny power says:

shut the old basterd up turn off the lights start? flicking lighters ..fuck wit the dude .damn somebody have some fun

  • hebneh says:

    1) Considering how it made him feel, I hope Ronnie never was dosed with LSD again.
    2) I wonder what Ronnie thought 15 years later when LSD was being? ingested by thousands of people.
    3) If the now-elderly Ronnie is still alive today, what’s he think about this experiment now?
    4) And what happened with this LSD antidote / wonder drug of 1954?

  • alg2956 says:

This? is a terrible experiment. Lsd is by far better than what is seen here.

  • ardvarkkkkk1 says:

Shrooms are nothing compared? to acid.

  • Removeab1emaSS says:

Yeah this WAS a long time ago folks, the doctors had no idear about the? effect of acid at the time. Poor fucker though, blatantly on a bad trip due to external input! Or maybe it just don’t agree with him

  • Oaffolger says:

I would not be surprised to find MER-17 or a more advanced version as an additive in the majority of street acid. It seems to remove the? more debilitating cognitive effects.

  • idk459 says:
