You are kidding aren’t you??
If your daughter has a drug habit bad enough to warrant going into a treatment facility I would want to keep my grandson well away from her until she gets her act together.
Was your grandson born with a drug habit as well?

Ok Rhonda .. why not take a 4 week old to rehab so he can be around all those addicts. that’s a perfect place to start out life. geeeeeeeeeze. you’ve got to be kidding. c’mon now, you do realize that a 4 week old baby doesn’t even have their own immune system yet, right? and you want him around a bunch of addicts?!?!?!
goodnesss.
If she was that concerned about her son .. she shouldn’t have been doing the drugs in the first place.
Why don’t you keep the baby with you until she finishes rehab? Or is the father clean? can he stay with him?
REHAB is NOT the kind of place you want a newborn!!!!
Wow! What a sad situation. I bet if you contact a local AA group they can point you in the right direction. I have a child and couldnt imagine what you are going through with your daughter and grandson. Hope the best for you. Here is a website that you might check out.

I think its wonderful that you are trying to keep your daughter and her baby together. So many people are so quick to judge that drugs cannot be overcome. I have a friend who used heroin from age 13 to 20. She is now a great mum with a loving husband and a part time job. She has told me her only reason for wanting to give up the drugs was her baby. Don’t get me wrong the childs health and wellbeing should come first but in rehab expecially at one that takes children normally only take other mums she will have someone watching her and her child at all time so if they feel there is a problem they will help. I think rehab is the best option for you, your daughter and her baby. It takes a strong person to stick by their children in these cases, you have my respect and best wishes to the whole family. I hope your daughter finds the help and support she needs. I am sorry I cannot help with the name of a rehab but if you or your daughter ever need to chat my email is open….
I’m afraid I have to agree with other respondents who have said that it is inappropriate to have a child, especially a helpless infant, at a drug treatment facility. Think about it, if your daughter’s drug problem is such that she must enter a treatment facility, then she obviously can’t properly take care of her son at this time. It would be emotionally beneficial and helpful to her recovery for her to be with her son, but it would be unhealthy for the child. The best thing you can do is have the child with his father or with you while she receives treatment, and bring him for frequent visits. Give your daughter something to look forward to when she makes it through this. My best wishes to your family during your difficult times.
JMO, but don’t you think YOU should be with your grandson instead so SHE can get clean?? Does HE have a drug addiction now too?? Good Luck! ~T~
