Effects of Drug Addiction: Effects of Drug Addiction on the Human Body
Drug addiction is an uncontrollable condition that can threaten the life of an addict. The addition of drug demands regular dose of the drug, which makes the person more and more dependent on the drugs. The drug occupies the minds and behavior of the addict. It causes harmful effects on the physical as well as mental health of an addict, which may not be corrected without a drug rehabilitation program. Anything that modifies the normal functioning of a body is causing harm to the body, which may be identified at the later stages.
One of the major effects of the drug addiction is that it weakens the immune system of the body. Immune system is one of the vital systems in the functioning of a body as it helps the body to fight with the external and internal infections and diseases. A body with weakened immune system is more prone to external microbial elements, which is why the addicts are often infected with communicable diseases. Not only the immune system, it affects all the other systems of the body like digestive system, nervous system, excretory system, and circulation system.
The metabolism works at a decreasing pace resulting into creating less hunger. The addicts are unable to eat a good diet, which makes them look weak and lean. This affects the intestines of the body resulting into various other problems like constipation. This contributes to the less flow of energies into the body of addicts making lazy and inefficient. The kidneys and liver are damaged due to excessive flow of toxins in the body. Therefore, they damage the digestive and excretory system of the body.
Another effect is that a drug excites the flow of blood as soon as it enters the body. This leads to high blood pressure and heartbeat rate. They can even cause the cardiac problems due to regular excitement of blood pressure. This ensures the destruction in the circulation system of the body. Those who smoke the drugs pose fatal risks to their respiratory system. The lungs can even develop cancerous lumps.
There are severe negative effects of drugs on nervous system. The drugs take over the control of brain thereby causing mental disorders like inability to concentrate, disturbed co-ordination of the various functions, unexplained anxiety, irritation, frustration, stress and insomnia. The addict loses control over the day-to-day affairs of his life. An individual who is addicted for any type of drugs faces endless trouble with the nervous system. Other effects may be like bad skin, damaged hair follicles and weak nails as there is less absorption of ital nutrients by the body of the addict.
A drug rehabilitation center concentrates upon the above harms and works to recover the effects as soon as possible to provide a healthy life to the addicts. They follow various drug rehabilitation programs to recover the addiction and heal the various systems of the human body.

Im not blaming anything on pot. In? my opinion it should be in the same realm as tobacco, alochol and lottery tickets.
alot of people need to acknowledge this vid. big? up to the maker. this is a perfect way 2 per sway those who fall victim 2 the bull s### bless.. natural iz better.
THATS ONE NASTY ROOT CANAL YOU GOT THERE HYAAAAA!!!! ?
Don’t do any drugs. You? obviously can’t spell correctly.
Are you seriously attempting (poorly, by the way) to actually say that using? meth is okay? Are you that stupid?
Thanks for the encouragement. I can’t help being scared though because I need to do well in High School or else I won’t get into? college and then I’m screwed, pardon my language.
Actually, he’s the only friend of mine that thinks that way and all? my other friends hate him….And I’ve been ignoring him for a while now because he has been….a person that gets on my nerves and doesn’t take things that need to be taken seriously, seriously.
Okay, then most drugs. Actually, that is a study I haven’t heard about. ^.^ Now I get to check out something. Thanks for the heads? up.
But it still causes people to be not very motivated, it brings lung cancer,? and it can cause memory loss AND it decreases the amount of estrogen and sperm count.
Not bias exactly, but,? SOME (notice the some) try to make something not sound as bad or lean towards it because, let’s face it, money does affect people.
Why would anybody want anything do do with meth is beyond me. Picts like these and horrible stories have been around for years.
Now bath salts? is where it’s at, at least that way you may eat your annoying neighbors face or something.
Are u trying to defend the use of meth by saying that it? wont always end up that bad?
We have been changing the genetics of plants for over 10, 000 years. How? did you think we got such good wheat, corn, bananas, etc? These plants have not always been like this. We modified them genetically to be the way they are. Whether you do it from breeding and culling or in a lab makes no difference. So. How is soaking leaves in diesel(stage 1 of coke production, and chemical) less dangerous than the wheat you ate with your morning toast(geneticly modified)?
These are just a? few extreme cases. Millions use meth and this doesn’t happen to them….
yes i do know, that most drugs like lsd,? morphine, heroine, cocaine and much more come from plants, although been through chemical processing, but still i dont find changing its genetic is less dangerous than chemical processing, cause if u know chemistry, you may know that you may have a deadly substance from 1 simple change in a harmless molecule. so is dmt (N,N-dimethyltryptamine) a substance which is in our own bodies too, and it still is illegal.
Stop yelling. The active ingredients of drugs were originally found in plants. Meth is unusual, in the fact that many thought it was wholly? synthetic, when in fact it occurs naturally in Acacia trees.
Heh. I did 6 months for growing it. I am quite well aware of basic agriculture. All drugs (the active ingredients at any rate)originally come from plants. My point is that the amount of PROCESSING (not modification of the plant itself) seems to? correlate with potency and harm.
Bullshit like that is about? as effective as prohibition. Applying mythology or the ghettoization of users does not, never has, and never will do the slightest bit of good.
also? true, i hate how people compare drugs to a nature made plant. but if you would be a bit better informated, you should know that there have already been “improvements” made by men on cannabis plants, to make them have less working substance on it. although that didnt work, they even made it better…
why would you blame thc if meth is also illegal, and blame it on marijuana if u see a vid of meth and its devastating effects,? then its meths fault.
