Are There Any Free Programs in the US for Drug Addiction?

Question by ol’ hippy girl: Are there any free programs in the US for drug addiction?
We are looking for a good program for our daughter- Oxycontin addiction. She has been in and out of rehab…to suboxene treatment centers. She has done all but completely break us financially.
We can’t afford another rehab- since she’s over 18 -are there any programs SHE could check into without us getting involved with the money end?

Yes, there are many programs that are free and available in every state including The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and Rescue Missions. I will put your post on my watchlist and if you post what state she lives in I can give you a list of free resources for addicts that I have compiled for every state.

And, yes I noticed the big SHE, which tells me that you realize that SHE is the one that has to do the work to not only make the calls but work her own recovery. Oxy is a bad one, but I also know of many success stories, including the son of one of my best friends.

You can also contact me at [email protected] and I can e-mail them to you.

narcotics anonymous is free & most rehab places base their program on the tenets of 12 step recovery, so why pay them for what is free anyway?
She has to be the one to want to stop! I strongly suggest you do research on tough love & assure her that if this go round with recovery fails, she is out of the house & family until she can stay clean for a considerable length of time.

you can find info online at na.org
wich includes a link to find meetings in your area, and online literature too!
