Was There a Time When Murder Was More Accepted and Didn’t Have the Stigma It Had Now?
Question by Ambi: Was there a time when murder was more accepted and didn’t have the stigma it had now?
Like in the early America’s did everyone kill indians, have been in combat, and duels were common just for insulting your “honor”? Was every man pretty much a murderer and it was just accepted that its what needed to happen?

Chris Columbus was a rapist and muderer… which is one of the reasons that native americans mourn on Thanksgiving.
I think that yes- there was more of a vigilante mentality back in the days.. but even still, many parts of our country have liberal gun rights, to allow for self defense measures against lunatics that are generally violent druggies, and I think that rape has also become an increasingly serious and heinous issue, to most people..
I think that being accepting of killing in self defense is a much better national security strategy, and war on drugs, domestic abuse, rape, etc, than taking peoples rights to bear arms away is.. lol
But as far as murder goes, yeah I think many people who are heralded today, were really murderers back then- its just that the history books fail to mention those things, for some odd reason..

Of course! People have sacrificed and killed for religious purposes for thousands of years and they truly believed they were doing the right thing. Same deal with more current issues like the Nazis who were going to eradicate the world of jews because they were ruining the world and the Taliban over in the middle east flying planes into the WTC. As sick as it is, they really believe it was/is the right thing to do at the time/right now.
