How Long Will It Take for Women to Become Comfortable Enough in Their New Found Equality?

Question by Earl Obama: How long will it take for women to become comfortable enough in their new found equality?
When will young women disregard this notion that they can raise children the right way, while working full-time, all by themselves? When in reality it is some stranger at some daycare center who is truly raising your children. When will they take responsibility for the dysfunction of their own children and stop blaming the father’s that they summarily dismissed so long ago. When will they realize that with equality comes responsibility, and if this guy is not the man of your dreams now, he probably won’t be after baby is born. How long will this transformation take I wonder? How many prisons must we build before single mothers start to realize that 85% of career felons come from single mother homes. When will they realize that although they themselves may be happy and successful at their careers, that their children are paying the price and that they are failing the next generation?

@ Douche-bags who will say what statistics have I used, How about you first look up the correlation between single mothers and :drug abuse, teen pregnancy, suicide, criminality, teen abortion…And the list goes on and on. YOU look it up I’ve done my research. And then after you have learned something you can go back to watching Fox-News.
@ everybody…the answers to this one were just so profound that I can’t pick a best so I will leave i up to Yahoo.

How sure are you that single mothers are feminists?

My bet is that feminists get pregnant when they plan to get pregnant, and that 90% of single mothers are traditional women with no grasp of feminism.

Women do NOT have equality in the US. The anti-woman (pro-life) campaign is getting stronger.

They wont realize it that’s why their will continue to be more and more single mothers because that’s what women want when they’re young. A fun and exciting man who they can have fun with as long as women want that that’s the type of men who they will get. Could you answer mine.

In a society where women can hit men but not the other way around, where all men and only men must sign for selective services at 18, where society works on removing “misogyny” but doesn’t even know what misandry is, where there are plenty of domestic violence campaigns and shelters for women but not men, with affirmative action even though women are outperforming men in college and workforce, I have a hard time feeling sorry for women.
The answer: I don’t know. I just hope these kids turn out well.

After being expected to stay home constantly to be homemakers for decades, getting the choice to work outside the home caused women to overdo it. Kind of like how when someone doesn’t eat for a long time, they gorge out when they get the chance and they get a stomache ache.
It may take a while for things to even out, but life is just finding the balance in everything. Also the biggest issues with single mothers come from teen pregnancy and women who accidentally get pregnant when they aren’t ready, not from single mothers who work to support their child. And the same exact things go for guys too. One of the leading causes of oversexulization at young ages is a lack of a father figure.
On another note women still aren’t considered equal in the workforce.

its unfortunate – but due to the huge amount now spent on welfare, governments are gonna cut this stuff back – single mothers are going to be hit by these cuts all governments are doing it :

    Australia – > http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-03-04/un-monitors-question-single-parent-welfare-cuts/4550662

    UK -> http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2013/mar/04/benefits-housing

    http://www.thirdforcenews.org.uk/2013/02/single-mothers-set-to-be-almost-1000-worse-off-by-2015/

and obviously we all know Americas current insolvency problems.

so it maybe governments are simply gonna starve them off. a generation or two of single mothers truly living in poverty ought to make it a far less attractive option to future generations of young women. perhaps we will see charities emerge to pick up any shortfall. but government isnt supposed to be a charity.

and obviously – you can blame men all day. But its not men that have to raise the children. people hate to force women to be responsible and accountable, but for their own children they really have to be. You choose to have children with a man who is either unwilling or unable – or uninterested in raising children, thats a bad choice. And daddy state will be increasingly unable to foot the bill.

And the liberal governments of the west would love to see single mothers rise to like 50%, 60% – they love giving handouts and they love single mothers – but they are going to have to face social and economic reality on this one. which Im sure comes as a big disappointment to many in power.
