Would legalization of drugs and lower drinking ages lower usage and addiction rates?

  • Judy & Charlie says:

    Yes.
Why not present a little information of how easily drugs were obtained before they were regulated? Did you know that the Sears Catalog advertised opiates for sale through the mail to anyone who wanted them? Did you know that Coca Cola used to use cocaine as one of their early ingredients? Did you know that in the late 1800’s canned ether used to be used at parties to get everyone stoned and that this was perfectly legal to obtain this sedative through the mail or at your local pharmacy?

Copies of these early advertisements are easy to Google online and this whole subject is totally amazing to me. It shows you how casually people took the use of drugs and if you compare that to the Temperance Movements during that time, it’s amazing!

Weed helps hangovers….But? i think alcohol is more severe than cannabis

  • Taydrum says:

THC reduces the activity of Glutamate, which is? higher in alcohol withdrawls. It also eases inflammation by mechanism of cb2.

  • TyroneMardley says:

Glutamate is involved? in withdrawal. You need as much GABA as possible.

100% agree, first person on here to comment who has sense, weed is just as bad,? but yes alcohol is horrible & destroys people, but the stoner always has to have the last word. ..

  • Taydrum says:

the inhibition of GABA is substituted by the release of dopamine, caused by THC, easing? withdrawals

  • KeyOfLime says:

Google “cannabis as a substitute for alcohol”, and you’ll find trials/results. I can’t provide links…
The science is there to show it would be effective in treating withdrawal symptoms and therapeutically ease cravings and chance of relapse. Of course it is cannabis however, and not perfect for everyone. Just like all other treatments, it should be considered a viable option but not? a perfect solution.
