While I have nothing but sympathy for the mothers who have lost their children to prescription drug addiction, I cannot understand why Congressman Buchanan has nothingtosay about the killing of? children by gun violence.
If you’ve ever had to standby in agony as the life of someone you cared for spiraled downward because of a prescription drug addiction, you would be cheering for this legislation.? If you haven’t had the experience, talk to someone who has. Many wonderful parents try everything to help their children, children who might initially have been prescribed painkillers by doctors, and end up losing the battle because of the availability of pills on the street. Parents need the help of this bill.
Requiring patients to have an original Rx for refills will drive the cost up for that patient because the doctor will require an office visit and charge for it. Once again we are trying to legislate parental and personal responsibility and passing the cost onto the patient and/or parent. Education, not? legislation is the answer.
