Does BP cause post acne hyperpigmentation spots on dark skin tone? I’ve used BP 5% for a month, it cleared up my skin, but let some dark spots. Did salicylic acid’s better? for dark skin tone like mine?
my? eyes swelled too! i looked like i was stung by a bee
Hey! thanks a lot for this useful video. By the way, I hear many people keep on talking about acne remedy called Acnezilax Secrets (search on google), but I’m not sure if it is good. Have you considered Acnezilax Secrets? I have heard some great things about it and my cooworker finally clear her acne naturally, using? it, but she refuses to tell me 🙁
it’s very normal for your skin to be red and itchy for the first 2-4 weeks. Even though I have eczema my skin didn’t get very red when I started since I slowly? upped the dosage. I started with 4 hours a day for 4 days, then 12 hours the next 3-4 days, and then I started putting it on 24/7. After 3 weeks my skin was not itching at all, but it was a bit drier so I just had to use a bit more moisturiser 🙂 Also 2.5% benzoyl peroixde is just as effective as 5% or 10% but it has less side effects.
Guys, get rid your acne problem doesn’t have to be difficult (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a natural acne treatment called Acnezilax Secrets (google it). Seriously, that remedy has changed my entire life. I probably should not even be mentioning it because I? don’t want a bunch of other guys out there running the same “game” but whatever, I’m in a good mood today so I will share the wealth haha.
Is it possible to use topical antioxidants while using benzoyl peroxide, or will? they just cancel each other out? (I don’t spot treat with BP, the only way it’s effective for me is to apply a low strength to almost my entire face once a day.) I don’t want to use BP during the day because I don’t want anything to interfere with my sunscreen.
What are my options?
Copy/paste from the? website (facerealityacneclinic)
“They did not find BPO to be a genotoxic substance, which basically means they do not believe that it damages DNA. They go on to add that even though BPO has been shown in research to create oxidative damage, that in humans, there are oxidative repair mechanisms that would likely prevent benzoyl peroxide from causing DNA damage.”

i found that when my acne had gone away, i felt much more confident and as? a result, happier. My blog is here: backne.org

On the topic of getting rid of those red/purple? post acne marks, the peroxide in benzoyl peroxide lightens those marks because of the bleaching effects. I would advise against tanning a lot when using benzoyl peroxide, not just because of possible skin irritation but because it will make your face look lighter than the rest of your tanned body (of course make-up can darken you up if you are desperate. If clear skin means no tanning (which is bad on? all levels) then I will gladly concede.
My skin is medium toned olive and oily. I use an anti-bacterial scrubbing pad with a gentle cleanser/toner I got from? Melaleucadotcom called Body Satin. Exfoliating is a key to renewed skin, especially to get rid of post acne marks and pits. Then I? apply Dickenson’s witch hazel toner, followed by Nature’s cure benzoyl cream. Most importantly I use good lotion from Donna’s facial rescue line at Silvermoon skincare dot com (organic products). Exfoliation and hydration are keys to healthy skin.
@isabelvo @isabelvo Hi- Glad that my comment helped you! If you don’t have any active bumps on your face, you can go ahead and start using some AHA product. I don’t know if you have previously tried AHA but they exfoliate and help with red marks as well. If you don’t get desired results from AHA, you can try something with Hydriquinone (bleaching agent) which is? more stronger. For me, AHA’s helped a lot. I used a product called M2 Skin Refinish! Good luck. 🙂
i am olive toned..and i love it! but you r so right..i used BP and it did get rid of my acne..so happy about that ..but i am red in every spot i used it..dry and a tad raw ( sensitive burning ) what do you suggest ?? your comment was very helpful thank you . ps – i do moisturize after, and it actually stings a alittle..even when i cleanse …
redness will disappear time to time you? use it
when you got the redness, how long did it last until? the redness was gone?
I’ve been using 5% benzoyl peroxide cream for 2 weeks and my acne and redness is almost gone!!! I recommend it for people who get redness on zits and if it’s in a certain area. I have it bad on my chin and it works? great!!
I’ve used just about every topical treatment there is. Absolutely no effect,? aside from wrinkles.
For people with olive or tan skin, BP is a problem. It dries out zits for sure but leaves behind stains (red or dark) that take forever to fade. This is because BP causes free radical damage and inhibits tissue healing causing the hyperpigmentation to linger for a lot longer. Sucks for me as it was? the only product that worked on my zits. Gahhh sucks to have tan skin!
another quick comment, yall can try a soap called derma klear akne treatment soap with sulfur located at your nearest whole food or health food store…drink? alot of water people it keeps the inside flushed and clean and reducing the breakouts dramatically if not 100%..like i said benzoyl peroxide is great but must be used with a little discretion cause it can be very drying..i use it every other day with suncreen off course and am ok… so yall can try it or the soap i mentioned..gud luck yall
ok so for the people that have concers about bp i think it safe i have been using it for 16yrs and never had a problem…to the person named rozelene below, there is only one concern, it can be really drying so dont use to much maybe every other day or so but if used too often it will dry out ur skin..also to the person named spskdm below, a good benzoide proxide cream is called “zap-it” u can buy it at cvs, walmart, walgreens, rite aid.or any drug store..it works,? but can b drying to ur skin..
I have a question my doctor gave me benzoyl peroxide gel, 5% n i dont know wat to do do iwash my face then pat it? with towel and put bp on it then put lotion??? Pls help me
